November 8th, 2001:
Muse, Hundred Reasons

Me and Alec went to see Muse at London Arena. Hundred
Reasons supported and they were awesome, the whole of the band are
really looking forward to their forthcoming album. Muse played through
their whole
catalogue of songs, including some newbies. Ended with Hyper Music, and
giant balloons falling from the ceiling, amazing. Highlights had to be
Citizen Erased and Plug in Baby.
February 2, 2002: Alien Ant Farm, Vex Red,
Dredg
All of us went to Brixton Academy to see Alien Ant
Farm. Vex Red and Dredg were in support. Vex Red had some good songs,
Genie in a Bottle (yes the Christina Aguilera song) being a highlight.
Dredg had some good riffs, but had a man with seven layers of clothes on
and played trumpet as their singer. Obscenities were passed, and Dredg
left the stage in shame. After the shambles of Dredg, AAF came on to
huge support, and they rocked the academy with Courage, Whisper, and
that old favourite Movies. They ended on Smooth Criminal, leaving
everyone on a high. An awesome show.
Here's
Mike (the drummers) view on AAF:
"Me
(Mike, drummer) and Alec (Fatty Bass player) went into the pit at AAF.
Now the pit at an AAF gig don't sound like much, but it was f**kin
great, and we went crazy. I can't wait for S.O.A.D."
As Mike said, the next gig the gang are going to is
System of a Down at Brixton Academy on the 20th of March, so tune in
soon for a review of that gig.
